HOW DOES PROTEST WORK?

CAN I MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Yes! Many activists/protestors have little or no previous experience in this arena. All that's required is a passion for democracy and justice. Your personal participation adds a voice that will be heard by your community and leaders, both Democrat and Republican. Freedom of speech is a constitutional right, and making your voice heard in the street is one of the oldest ways Americans have chosen to express themselves.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?

The Activist/Protest organizations in the Rochester region are grassroots, meaning they have been started and are run by ordinary citizens like you. In some cases, they are part of regional or national volunteer groups.

We know you're busy, and maybe you don't feel you have time to join Indivisible Outreach. You are can still be effective - and very welcome - by just showing up to events when you can. Go to the "Calendar" page to see what's coming up.

If you can't make it to an actual protest, there are other ways to contribute. "Protest From Home Options" provides links for phone calls to politicians, postcard outreach (surprisingly effective), voter registration and turnout, and companies to boycott. All of these work.
